Has anyone tried Librella yet? I’m just wondering if it works and the cost of the vet supplying it for a 32kg Labrador.

Hi, I have no experience, but it was just recommended for my brothers dog who is a huge pointer for about £90 a month, so a lab should be quite a bit less. Reviews seem to be very positive. It is probably worth trying if you have already explored everything else, if your dog is still struggling. It is pretty cost prohibitive though.

    Hi
We’ve had on on our late 14 year old working type lab . Made an incredible difference in her for about 18 months , combined with some gentle hydrotherapy and a good diet to keep her weight down she took on a new lease of life . We did notice towards the end of the month it was losing it effectiveness and you could tell she was due another injection
I personally think it made a huge difference but it’s expensive

There are some summaries of the evidence for Librela here and here. It looks like it may be helpful for some dogs, but there's a need for more studies, before we can be confident of the benefits.

Heard of it, never tried it on my dog. I've heard some horror stories about it, so the only reason I'd try it is if the dog's quality of life was questionable.
