    Hiya
well we are on countdown now til we get our puppy. 4 weeks to go!
We are first time puppy owners and would like a list of essentials we need to buy or you couldn't live without. Apologises if there is already a post about this.

Also what do you all feed your pups?

    Any help would be grateful

    Many thanks
    Emma

    Hi Emma and welcome :)

You need to speak with your breeder and ask what pup is on food wise as you will need to keep to the same food for a bit. Once pup is settled you can change the food if you want (I did) but do it over a period of a week (mix both foods initially more with breeders food then slowly increase the food you want). I feed Harley Royal Canin Gastro as she has a sensitive tummy.

I 100% recommend the crate. It is invaluable to me especially as I work. It was also very good for toilet training :)

I'm sure others will be along with more suggestions

What is pups name? Boy or girl? And photos are essential on here ;)

    Hi Emma,
As has been suggested, a crate is a good 'den' and makes puppy training so much easier. I would add a Kong, as my dogs have always been given a Kong with a few treats inside and/or peanut butter smeared round the rim when they go into their crates. They enjoys their Kongs and the routine is also a signal that they are expected to settle down for a while!
    Enjoy your puppy!
