Hi bros, Few months ago, posted about situation of my dog, Shes 9 month now, Labrador retriever, She have rickets in rear leg, due to this she have hip dysplaisa and weakness in muscles, Like we discussed in old thread, Her parents are a grade, But because of my fault of giving her slippery surface and no exercise made her this issue.. Now swimming can fix her, walking can too but not good as swimming, Problem is, i have no arrangements of swimming, we have no place near, and near swimming pools dogs are not allowed, I tried to search much, but i got no arrangments, In that what thing i should do to build her muscles, Is there any food that build her muscles? I know excersize is only, but still. I request your suggestions, because i know this forum is popular in having good people and staff. Generally speaking, Her condition 5 months ago was like extremely bowed curved cow hock legs, is now treated almost 90%, Left is muscles, if muscles got powered she will also get help in hip, the joint would try to go in socket.. Thanks
see if you can find a dog physiotherapist they can teach you how to masage and manipulate the leg in ways that may help
Hello there I'm sorry to hear you don't have any swimming facilities - that's such a shame. Controlled swimming, in warm water, in a proper hydo pool, can be really good for dogs with joint problems. I think that the reason you haven't got many replies to your questions is that you are asking really difficult questions. It's not possible to say what kind of other exercises, or even diet, might help your dog. This is because it's just not really possible to give that kind of advice over the internet - you are asking the type of questions best answered by a professional who has examined your dog. Can you go back to your vet, explain the trouble you are having finding anywhere that your dog can swim (if your vet suggested it, does he know of a place?) and ask for alternative suggestions about what kind of regime might help your dog? The very best of luck with it.
I agree, i hope the time will also help, Walking will not good as swimming but also bad, It Will just take time, i hope one day she will recover.. Thanks to everyone.
