Ashima is 7 months and is now quite successful at resisting the urge to jump on people who want to pet her. Not perfect but infinitely better.

At the same time she seems to have completely forgotten what down means. It used to be a no brainer. I tried to lure her down, going back to basics, and she just sits and looks at me.

    Ideas?

If you've used 'down' to mean 'don't jump up at people' then Ashima may no longer understand that it means 'lie down'. Try retraining with something really delicious as the lure and make sure that initially you are somewhere where she feels happy to lie down - i.e. a comfortable surface, not near other dogs or where there are exciting or scay things happening. Then introduce a new cue word - for example 'drop' or 'flat' in stead of 'down'. Then gradually fade the lure and introduce distractions.

Very well done on getting her to resist jumping up on people.

Different words - off and down - I’ll try more deliciousness!
