Overnight harley was a little bit sick and wanted to have a wee at 5.30am which us really unusual for her. She went straight back to bed, and eventually woke up at 10am where she waited for hubby to get up to use the bathroom, then nicked his spot on the bed and fell asleep for another half hour. She had breakfast - only done half portion but she didn't eat it all she went outside, had wee and poo (both normal), came back in and fell asleep on my lap. We have just been out for a walk in the woods for just over an hour, she hardly ran around, wasn't interested in playing with other dogs (even her friends we passed!). She walked home with loose lead on her flat collar! She is now fast asleep on the sofa ;( She just doesn't seem right, but I'm not sure what to do apart from keeping an eye on her wish she could speak and tell me what's wrong!
Re: Not right! If I couldn't attribute this to something she may have done or eaten I'd be going to the vet. It's such a change in behaviour coupled with loss of appetite :-\ Hope it's nothing and that she feels better soon x
Re: Not right! I agree , any sudden massive change in behaviour needs to be addressed as soon as possible, hope all is well x
Re: Not right! Just phoned the out of hours vets. They said because she is drinking ok and her poo is normal, and she is weeing ok that they aren't overly concerned at the minute. If she is sick again they will want to see her, apart from that it's just to monitor her and pop to the vets tomorrow if she's the same.
Re: Not right! How's she been the rest of today Ternaya?bless her,you are right, wish they could tell us x
Re: Not right! Just saw this. Hope all is well . At least you spoke to a vet so you can rest a little easier.
Re: Not right! Pongo sends licks and wonders how she is? If I was acting like that it would be because I had a migraine. Such a shame they can't talk to us, isn't it? Poor girl.
Re: Not right! Have you taken her temp? When Daisy was about 12 weeks old, she got really sick, but was still eating and drinking - just very lethargic and quiet, only wanting to snuggle. I finally took her temp and it was over 104F (about 40C), so off we went to the emergency vet.
Re: Not right! I hope Harley is feeling better very soon. I expect you'll be worrying all night Naya. Hopefully it's just something she's managed to snaffle without you seeing and it's upset her a bit and she will be bouncing about in the morning. I do hope so. Let us know how she is fingers crossed. x x
Re: Not right! Oh poor Harley! She seemed so full of energy yesterday too...Benson sends gentle licks..
Re: Not right! About 4pm I went upstairs to sort the washing out - Harley came up with me. I finished and came back downstairs but Harley decided our bed was so comfy that she has only just come down and is snuggled up on the sofa after having a drink It might be because she was in day care every day this week which she hasn't done before (we had builders in!), then with training yesterday, she might be exhausted from it all and needs some downtime ??? I will keep a very close eye on her. Thank you for all your kind wishes x
Re: Not right! When Pongo has more than one day of day care in a row he sleeps the WHOLE DAY afterwards.
Re: Not right! Benson has been unusually quiet today...still full of beans but sleeping a lot. (Fast asleep in his crate atm.. ) It was quite a long session yesterday, and maybe they need the "downtime" to process all that learning!
