He started shaking his head last night, quite violently too , I gently wiped his ears with a tissue, oh what a mess, both ears, black gunk that wasnt there the day before .
First question asked at the Vets , has he been swimming in the river , yes he has a few days ago . She is sure its an infection so he had a pain killing shot and some ear drops . Bless him, he isnt very brave , he shrunk into a corner, trying to make himself smaller :( :(
I dont think he got much sleep last night, I kept hearing the sound of flapping ears , Millie has been trying to Mother him :(

Thank you for the get well wishes . Sam is very subdued even for him ::)
He will pick up instantly very soon as six year old Silas is off school for teacher training day and will be here is 20 mins for his lunch and a muddy woody walk afterwards , Sam adores his little friend :)

I'm sure Sam will have lots of fun this afternoon and his little friend will take his mind off his ear ache.

Murphy had a couple of ear infections after swimming. They always cleared up quickly once I'd started the drops. Fingers crossed sams do too.

Dont these dogs just make you feel humble at times ? I know that Sam didn have much sleep last night and was in pain with his earache too plus the pain killing shot seemed to knock him for six, but when Silas walked through the door, he was up , tail wagging with joy :) :)
A lovely muddy walk, keeping Sam out of the water was no mean fete, but we did , Silas has just gone back to Looe and Sam is spark out :)

Poor Sam, hope it clears up real soon, it usually does. Our last dog suffered frequently from ear problems from going in rivers etc but it seemed to clear quite quickly with Canaural drops.
Yes, we can certainly learn a lot from our four legged friends! They never seem to have a "bad" day do they, always there for you no matter what. :D

Happy to report that the big lad is much better this morning so the Canaural drops must be working , am just amazed at how quickly this infection started and developed as I check his ears on a regular basis x
