So here it is ..we have 2 for the October challenge.

Challenge 1. For those wet and windy days, and dark autumnal evenings. This one you will really need to get shaping with those clickers! :)

How to Train your dog to cross Paws.

Of course you can also post videos in stages, to let everyone know how you are getting on..it doesn't need to be the finished product, and of course we all love the outtakes, this should be fun right? :D

Challenge 2. A really useful behaviour to have on board..a "behind" cue.. :). If you already have this, it would be great to share some tips with the rest of us :)

How to train a "behind" cue

My GSP used to cross her paws naturally :D Not sure I could teach my Lab! I have taught him 'middle' which is similar to behind perhaps?

Hattie crosses her paws naturally too, all the time so does that mean I can cheat? @Beanwood :D x

We are at the VERY early stages, and boy teaching a paw cross is tough!:D

I am at "touch the target on the ground with paw" stage, using right paw. Next stage I am going to put target in between his paws, but just wanted to get him to use his right paw first. I did try with target in the middle but he would use either paw. The hardest bit though, was he wanted to use his nose all the time!

OK not much happening, but hey darned cute choccie lab! :D:D

    Yes indeed :)

This looks daunting, I'd better get started :)

This was our second session, just a few minutes at a time at keeping it easy. Already it's Casper's favourite game, he sends the target flying across the room, then chases it around like a demented hockey player! :D:D

Benson’s expression is so sweet. ‘You want me to hit this thing? Ok, there you go. Humans -who can fathom the things that please them!’

I think I’m going to give this month’s a miss as I’m busy trying to train a straight sit. I know it sounds easy...

I used to think it was easy. Until I realised I was doing this mini step to the left every time I stopped walking. It turns out that Ella had trained me to do a straight 'stand still'!

Benson inspired us! We are only at right paw on target while laying down (she has done most shaping standing up so that's her default position!)...I think getting the cross is going to be tricky. Nice to have something to work on now that the evenings are dark so early!

When I tried it I got a message saying that it couldn't be played remotely but could still be played directly on YouTube. If you have no luck try going to YouTube and searching Kikopup and cross paws.

When you try and play it, it will show a YouTube logo in the bottom corner. Click on that, and it'll open the video on the YouTube site.
