Today's the day for Juno to have the bandage removed from her leg at the vets. Seems a shame to wake her though, she's having such a lovely nap.

Thanks all for the good wishes. We're now home from the vets which wasn't too traumatic although Juno was not keen on the spray the vet uses to help loosen the bandage from the wound and stitches. Think that's a bit of an understatement as, putting it politely, the spray stinks! Still she got a few treats for being a good girl and not fussing too much. She keeps looking at me though as I've left the collar on at the moment so she can't get to her leg to give it wash to get rid of the smell. Appointment made for next Thursday for the stitches to be removed and we've got the signed referral for Hydrotherapy. Now I just need to work out how I book a course for her in French on the phone. I hate the phone........

I feel your pain! I hate talking on the phone at the best of times, even in my native language to my favourite people in the world. When I first moved here and had to pick up the phone (argh) and talk in Spanish (argh!) to book a dentist appointment (ARGH!), it took me about three days to pluck up the courage!

I'm alright phoning in French until they respond at which point my French goes out the window. My usual respond is "Pardon, je ne comprend pas. Je suis anglaise et je parle le francais un peu....." Seems to work particularly with cold callers ;)

Agree, agree, and although I am so lucky to live away in a country where everyone speaks English as their second language....accents cause no end of problems on the phone.I hate it ,it's so frustrating bit you can't get frustrated because I'm in no position to be critical when they are speaking my mother tongue....can't say how many times I've given up and said send me your email ......

Good luck with the call, and keep up the good recovery work Juno x

Glad to hear things are going well for you and Juno! We started hydro two weeks ago, it's great fun!

Quite looking forward to the hydro when we get it booked but can't do anything while she's got the stitches in and they're due for removal next Thursday.
