    Hi everyone.

I was just wondering how old was the oldest lab you've known?

One of my work colleagues had a lovely old girl who was three months shy of her 17th birthday when they had to let her go.

Hope mine don't go on that long as they will outlive me and I will worry about them from the grave......

Blimey 18, that really is a good age. Meg is 14 next month and I'm just praying that I'll have her until she's at least 16 or older.

My Bones just passed his 14th birthday, and Billy was almost 16 when I had to let him go.

My boy Nicolae was 14 and I felt lucky to have had him for that long. 16 is amazing and 18 is even more so.

Wow, I thought my colleagues dog was old, but seems about average now...

I know Penny isn't likely to see anywhere near that age, we'll be lucky if she gets to double figures with her hips I would have thought.

No, I think that 17 for a large dog is a very long innings :)

The generally quoted lifespan of a Labrador is about 12 years (that's what I seem to read...).
