We have recently taken on a 1 year old Chocolate Lab called Revel, Milly our 3 year old Chocolate is very placid and submissive, normally very good and sticks to the rules. For a few weeks Milly had been great showing Revel how to behave now she's breaking all the rules, going on the garden beds, going upstairs & eating plants. Something she's never done before, any suggestions would be appreciated as to why??
Re: Older dog being naughty Regression we have a touch of that going on here my lovely well behaved Chihuahua has destroyed a cushion this morning - never even did that when she was a puppy so now at 2 it's very much copying and regressing. Back to basics and reteach I believe is only way forward, we have had it before with previous pals.
Re: Older dog being naughty Just wanted to say Hi and welcome to the forum Unfortunately I can't help as Harley (16 month old fox red lab) is my first ever dog
Re: Older dog being naughty Thank you Naya, the site has a great deal of advice on offer and looking forward to reading through old posts. Have started additional training with Revel so hopefully Milly will follow suit, I always believe that training is an on-going thing anyway.
Re: Older dog being naughty Hi CJ welcome to the forum....interesting reading your post ,Dexter is our first dog and we are a single dog household so I haven't got any advice for you.i know from dexter playing with other dogs though how they can pick up bad habits .....and it's definately right, dogs don't stay trained. Hope it's just a 'phase' you sound like you are onto it and Milly sounds like training Bootcamp is awaiting her ;D
