During this mornings walk Holly did the most amazing recall. She was nose down, about 50 yards away, and I was waiting at the gate to the field. I started her recall whistle and she lifted her head, saw me, and charged towards me. Full marks! I think that she was expecting me to open the gate. A few yards from the gate she realised that it was still closed, so she splayed out her legs and dug in her paws to stop. Too late. Just before the gate she tumbled, and rolled into it bottom first. There was no damage done, except to her dignity
Re: Overenthusiastic recall Awesome recall she just needs to tidy up her landing for maximum style points ;D

Re: Overenthusiastic recall Way to go Holly!! I think she must have siphoned some of Simba's recall eagerness....twice now I've blown the whistle to get a dog that stops and looks at me, no other response... :-\ Sigh.
Re: Overenthusiastic recall Good girl Holly! Hope you checked her nails after that rather abrupt halt? She is a lady you know... ;D

Re: Overenthusiastic recall Yes. I need to do more formal whistle training...have been sadly negligent for awhile. And better treats, for sure!!
