New to the forum so Hello. Murphy is 6 months old and generally well behaved. However I occasionally give him a Kong stuffed with peanut butter and frozen as a treat. A couple of hours after eating it he goes ballistic and I mean crazy!!! Could he be sensitive to it and have a nut allergy? Cheers. Steve.
Re: Peanut butter There is an awful lot of sugar in peanut butter, so it could just be a sugar rush. I think if he had an actual nut allergy he'd be ill everytime he ate it, or at the very least he'd have some other kind of symptoms (itchiness, rash, hives, etc).
Re: Peanut butter Hi Harley is 7.5 months ands he lives peanut butter kongs. I only put it in the teething kong as it doesn't use so much to fill it. A normal kong takes a lot to fill so usually stuff and freeze this with natural yoghurt, banana, soaked kibble, carrots, rice and things like that. There is a lot of sugar and salt in peanut butter and could make pups a bit hyper ;D
Re: Peanut butter I think what has been said already is spot on - it's not going to be an allergy, but that's an awful lot of peanut butter in one kong! You could go for a really easy peanut butter and kibble mix, or experiment with the other kong fillers Naya suggested. Clare
