Are Peanuts OK for a Lab? Dropped a bird feeder, peanuts everywhere and Mella everywhere after the nuts! No idea how many she's eaten!
Also, having just been spayed she is on a four day anti biotic course and she is due her Advocate. Is it safe to apply Advocate while on the antis?

Pretty sure that peanuts are ok , I know that macadamia ( sp ?) nuts are bad . If it were me , I would let Mella finish her AB course before Advocate , a few days late wont matter that much, best to err to caution :)

Mira loves the blob of peanut butter she gets in her Kong sometimes - no ill-effects!

Same here, meg has peanut butter or pate to take her tablets. No ill effects either. Won't hurt to leave advocate until after anti-bs.

As we all know, peanuts aren't actually nuts at all, they're legumes. :)

Obviously not salted ones but peanuts are fine, not nutritionally great as dogs (like us) can't really digest them, so they come in pretty much as they go in! But also like us, they like them as a treat.

As for advocate and anti biotics - best person to see advice on that would be your vet.

Thanks folks, mind at rest regarding the peanuts! Not going up on the hill for a few days so will postpone the Advocate until we've been to the vet on Thursday.
