Smashing - you've captured a lovely set of images of a happy dog in a very loving family home - they are great. Cute kids too!

Kids and dogs really do belong together even though it's really hard to raise them all together. Great photos!!

Hopefully over the summer she will calm down more often near them. Still spend a lot of time separating them. I was just about to write a post about finding it hard to divide time between puppy and the kids. Like today we thinking of a beach trip. Take the puppy and we can't stay long or go to main town area. Leave her and then I will want to get home to her, and miss a perfect solicitation situation. and she will be hyper because of been on her own. and this is the first weekend of summer holidays!

Lovely photos. The "Airing of the Bits and Pieces" Photo is so typical. Your boys must love her to bits!

that really is hard - the leaving or making your kids miss out bit.

we're doing things separately quite bit. husband taking kids out, me here with the dogs.

the older one would be fine of course, it's the little one. there's a dog day care near here that will take pups after they've been fully immunised so i may try there just to give us a couple of full family days out this summer. i feel i'm missing out too! i can take the older one to work but the little one would be hard to give the time to and get any work done.

I hope you find a way round it. maybe a bit of doggy day care wouldn't go amiss. you wouldn't want the kids to miss out too much.

Re missing out on the summer - last year we weren't planning a holiday, because we got Poppy at the beginning of May. By July I was going stir crazy and in the end we rented a holiday apartment in Berchtesgaden in Bavaria for a week at the end of July. We could drive there from here (about five hours), so we packed the car up with Pops and her puppy crate and went! It was in the mountains and near a beautiful lake, and the whole thing was a huge success and saved my sanity!! ;D

I think with a new puppy and kids things will be a bit difficult to begin with. But going places will get easier by the day, and you'll be able to do more and more together. Just a trip to a local stream, where the kids and puppy can paddle, or the park where the kids can play a bit while you walk the puppy around a bit, followed by a picnic together... Small outings not requiring too much organization, which can be abandoned without too much fuss if it all goes pear shaped - or extended if things are working well! It's good for everyone in the family to get out and about a bit... :D

We took her with us! She was excellent, even "heeled" a bit on the lead. We let her off lead and made a big fuss of playing fetch. (not something she crazy about yet). She even went in the sea, last time she was scared. Took our eyes off her for a second and she was off chasing seagulls. Very scary moment, but I only shouted her back once and waited! Met a big black Labrador boy, owner said we could let the play but I thought she was already over excited and other dogs around too. My boys had a paddle, and even in the excitement Amy didnt jump at them.
