Does anyone else have trouble taking photos of their black labs? Even when I think the lighting is good I still can’t seem to capture any lines or facial expressions. Any tips ? I use an IPhone 7 Plus. It’s better than my camera if that helps.
I haven't found the answer, my pictures are usually borderline terrible or I filter them and she looks like a chocolate lab! I have an iPhone 8...my best pictures are outside in bright daylight, but not too bright like a sunny day in the snow or you can't see her face at all I get my OH to take pics and sent them to me as his phone camera is brighter and better (Samsung Note 8)!
@Boogie takes amazing black lab photos. She gave me a mini lesson, but I'm still useless. I blame it all on my camera.
The only real answer is a decent camera. But here are some tips with an ordinary camera/phone. Get the dog into really good light and put your back to the light without casting a shadow on the dog. If there is a ‘focus’ square - there often is - make sure it’s focussed on the blackest part of the dog. Look at the eyes and ‘click’ when you see a catchlight in each eye. Take 100s of photos and choose the best, but I don’t need to tell @Emily_BabbelHund that! Crop the image in ‘edit’ - a good crop makes all the difference.
@Boogie , that is a fantastic photo. That’s what I see but then I look at photo and and see a black blob lol. Glad I’m not the only one having troubles.
