Lola will eat everything! She is still pooing out bird seed she ate at my father in laws on Saturday (so gets away with murder at grandads :) and has ripped off 2 branches from my blueberry bush!!! So I think it is about time I brush up on what plants may or may not make her ill or worse. I know hydrangeas can give some dogs a bad belly and aloe a really bad belly but I have a few other plants dotted about the garden. Are there any plants that should be kept totally out of bounds?
Re: Plants vs Lola I know that lillies are toxic to cats, not sure if it's the same for dogs. Other than that I can't help I'm afraid, luckily penny's never been interested in eating plants!
Re: Plants vs Lola Have a look at The Dogs Trust website, they have a very comprehensive section on there, listing all plants and shrubs that are poisonous to dogs .
Re: Plants vs Lola I can sympathise with you...My 6 month old pup Buddy is steadily working his way through sampling my back garden, with bulbs his current target. I don't have a list of toxic plants, but I've trimmed my Wisteria and dug up foxgloves as I know the leaves of both can be harmful if eaten. He's also been digging up the Vitax fertiliser that I've fed some plants with- so I won't be using that again! Luckily he's only got access to the back garden, so I'm focusing my gardening skills on the areas he can't reach!
Re: Plants vs Lola Luckily I don't have any bulbs cause it seems majority of those I find listed are toxic! My pansies have been well and truly demolished. My garden was so beautiful last summer but Lola is determined for that not to be the case this year :
