Playing in the garden with Inky this evening, he somehow managed to tear his ear. He needed an anaesthetic and stitches. He's finally lying down and sleeping but it's so pathetic when he wines. They gave him pain meds so I don't think he's in pain but he does look very sad. Only good thing was that our usual vet was still open so they know his history. Poor Inky, he's always a worry.
Aww poor sausage. Probably the anaesthetic is making him unhappy, once this is out of his system he should perk up.
Oh poor lad, how do they manage to do these things??? Merlin almost hurt himself on Monday - his friend the postman came and he jumped up at the gate to say hello... Somehow he got his foot caught in the slats on the top of the gate, and was stuck. MUCH TERRIBLE SCREAMING ensued - luckily I was right there and was able to lift him up and postie got his foot out from between the slats. No harm done (apart from my blood pressure), but it just shows you how quickly they can hurt themselves... If I hadnt been right there he could easily have dislocated his shoulder, or worse.
Oh Inky poor thing! I hope the ear heals quickly with minimum pain. @Karen I would have been in a complete state if something like that happened with Harley. I tend to be good under pressure but after the chaos is sorted I am a mess. I am so glad Merlin is not hurt. A couple of our forum pups have been under the weather and in the wars this week.
Very quiet yesterday and was up in the night but quite cheerful today. He's completely unbothered by his bucket collar, acts as though it's not there which is not good for my legs! I'm taking it off and walking him on the harness but I'm not sure he'd be bothered. The stitches look a bit red but hoping it's just early days. His skin is so thin it tears when they stitch it. Hopefully it will heal eventually but even a little nick takes ages with him.
