Poor pup, he certainly is not right, noticed he was drinking a bit more, and eating a bit more slowly than usual, tonight he has started coughing, more of a hacking, retching sound. He is definitely off colour, so off to the vets tomorrow....just hate it when they are ill.. :'(
Re: Poorly Benson Poor little man. Hope he is better soon. It's certainly stressful when they're unwell.
Re: Poorly Benson Oh no, sounds like another one with kennel cough! it is that time of year I suppose... Penny hopes he feels better soon!
Re: Poorly Benson He is on my lap chewing quietly on one of his favourite toys his monkey fist a present from Holly Just about managing to type! ;D
Re: Poorly Benson Haha he's milking all the attention he can.... Oh my goodness... He's got MAN FLU!!!

Re: Poorly Benson Poor Benson :'( it does sound like kennel cough to me - Harley was making retching noises to start with Just wondering if they all picked something up when we went to the beach, especially as Holly has it too!!.......my vet said it can lay dormant for a few weeks before rearing it's ugly head!
Re: Poorly Benson Oh now there's a worrying thought... Was it just the three of them who went on that meet? Perhaps they picked it up from one of the dogs they met...?
Re: Poorly Benson That would make sense for them to have picked it up then... Especially as they've all come down with it at the same time
Re: Poorly Benson Pongo is nodding his head wisely and saying "oh yeah, mate, I remember, I had that a few weeks ago. Milk the sympathy. And don't worry, you'll feel fine in about a week. (But you can carry on milking the sympathy for a bit longer than that....)". Perhaps I should mention that when Pongo had it I felt so sorry for him he started getting bits of prime beef and chicken breast at unexpected moments during the day. Also - weirdly or not, I tried coating a dessert spoon in runny honey (just enough to coat it), then letting him lick it very slowly (tiny bit at a time). It really seemed to sooth the throat and calm the coughing for a couple of hours (til he went hoolying off around the garden again). Get well soon, Benson and all the sickly pups!
Re: Poorly Benson He has had a quiet on lead walk this morning, plus kongs with chilled wet bob and lush, frozen peas and honey. He was unimpressed with the peas and carefully licked each pea before leaving it... : Vet appointment booked for this afternoon. Will clean up peas later! ;D
Re: Poorly Benson Please let us know what the vet says Kate. Harley sends licks to Benson and hopes her boy will be fighting fit soon x
Re: Poorly Benson Poor little fella. Everyone across the pond needs to perk up! No more of this icky stuff. Edsel sends lots of licks! Lori
