I have a 11 week old black Lab, bought from a family who owned parents as family pets, since collecting him at 8 weeks he firstly had worms which vet treated him for, but has progressed to mucus and blood coming from his back passage, and constantly going to the toilet sometimes normal sometimes very runny but each time lots of mucus, vet had given him antibiotics to treat a parasite in his colon, he has been on probiotics paste, changed to wheat free complete food and now on a prescription wet food for 3 days. Also on another wormer as the 2nd dose of wormer still bought out lots of larvae and 1 worm. Anyway nothing seems to be helping as of yet. Next step for vet is steroids but he can't have them as recently vaccinated. Anyone else had this problem or have any ideas? I have contacted the family we got him from But they said on vet check the day we collected he was given a clean bill of health. Unfortunately insurance not covering as it started happening 2 days after the insurance was taken out and there is a 2 week cooling off period. Thanks in advance for any advice !
