I'm going with a friend + my 4 labs (three in car mainly and one hopefully being suitably attentive and well behaved .... maybe)
Bramble is going as well, and is in one of the classes, I am just a wee bit nervous now! She isn't going for the whole day though, just a half day so she doesn't get over tired
Yay, I've made it to Glouscester after a nightmare journey from Kent, 8hrs At least I'm only 13 miles away from the conference now
@Newbie Lab Heavens, why did the journey take so long! I live about 40 minutes away but unfortunately had no-one to look after the dogs so couldn't go.
Loved the conference and watching as many of the group ones as I could. Lots of fun new games to play and a whip lung line. Great to meet @Beanwood, Marcus, Casper and Bramble. I managed to smile to @bbrown but wasn't sure before if it was you Barbara so sorry for not asking sooner. I did ask some people but they weren't who I thought they may be, lol. I'm happily shattered
Closure between junction 11 and 12 of M4 and road works and hold ups on M25. I had to come through Reading in the rush hr traffic with the added closure on M4 made this painfully static. Car nearly overheated so sat on a hard shoulder for an hr to cool it down, had no idea where I was, lol. I'm so glad I hadn't got Dexter with me as nowhere safe to let him out in the hold up. Still at least I made it today as it was great. Hubby stayed at home with Dex.
What a dreadful journey, did you have a sat nav to get your through Reading?! Hope the day was worth the stress.
We had an amazing time! No photos or videos allowed apart from the conference photographer, will post those as soon as they come through. Took loads of notes will try tomorrow to put them all in some sort of sequence. Really brilliant and my advice to anyone is as soon as the dates for next year come through book yourself in quick! I think they are thoughts of having the next one over a weekend. it was fabulous to get so close to some great gundog trainers, and I had the opportunity to handle Bramble in the clicker retrieve class. Bramble was an absolute star, cool as cucumber whilst I was a nervous wreck!
I did but had to ignore it for a time and take pot luck as wanted to send me back the way I'd come to pick up the M4. I was jolly grateful for it though to get me through once the satnav realised my change of route.
It was baltic! I've only just warmed up! I was cruising round all incognito until I got Obi out of the car when several people came up to me and said hello lol!!!! Lovely day though. Fab to see Helen in action. Phillipa Williams was entertaining and had some useful stuff too!
HeeHee - given away by your dog! My OH was walking Charlie down a field, and some people came up to him and said "is that Choc Charlie?". My OH just said yes, wished them good morning and carried on walking! OH has no idea the forum even exists....
