A few days ago Harley stood up and started crying/whining. We checked her over and couldn't find anything and she didn't tense or pull away as I felt her whole body. She kept trying to bite / clean her right leg. A few mins later she was back to normal. I have restricted her running around for a few days. Tonight she has started looking towards her back end on the right and won't sit up straight - she sits on her left side. Again I don't a full check of her and when I was touching the inside, top of her leg on the right she tensed, pulled away and whined. She has been a bit more subdued the past few days .
I'm going to take her to the vets to get her checked tomorrow but just wondered if anyone had any advice

She couldn't have been bitten/stung by anything?Sounds unlikely this time of year but quite a lot of the Dubai dogs get stung by these horrible orange hornets that lurk in the grass, they Yelp ,do a really skippy jump and then limp for a little while? Or had she been to Daycare, playing with other dogs that she might have had a bump?
I'd get her checked Ternaya, you've done the right precautionary in restricting her excercise so anything won't have been made worse.... X

Oh dear. Sorry, I don't have any tips. But just wanted to say I hope it turns out fine, and the vet can sort her out with something. It does sound like something pulled though...

Vet check sounds like a good idea.

My first Lab tore a muscle in the same location (inside thigh) and he did it standing up against a tall fence on his back legs, barking at the dog on the other side.... Apparently that is a very bad position for dogs to be in due to the risk of muscle tears (now it always make me wince when I see people encouraging their dogs to stand on their hind legs...but anyhow...). He recovered perfectly fine but it did take some weeks of being careful, and some painkillers. He found it hard to get up from a sit and he didn't want to put any weight on the sore leg. The vet was able to diagnose the problem by just feeling the muscles where they attached to the bone and identifying the torn one (which was partially detached from the bone).

Hope all goes well at the vets for Harley.

Also, just to add that it took a few hours after the cause of the injury for it actually to show any symptoms.

I'm hoping it's just a pulled muscle or similar. The first time she whimpered was a couple of hours after being out with the dog walker - he did say that Harley was jumping over fallen trees in the woods, so could of done it then. She hasn't been to day care for a while as I've been off a lot recently.
Going to call the vet tomorrow and get them to check her to be on the safe side.
Thank you all for you support as always x

Hope it's something straightforward and quickly resolved. I know just how you feel, both of mine had a leg out the other day. Riley because he caught a back leg on a piece of rope neither of us saw coming off a fence post and Obi tweaked something wrestling with Riley. Both right as rain after a few days restricted exercise. You just can't legislate for the things they get up to. Big hugs for you both, feel better Harley :)

Just back from the vets. They think she has pulled a muscle so have metacam to try and help.......but.......my daughter left for work at 1.30pm today, I got home at 3.30pm and Harley had been sick 6 times in the living room and hadn't even tried to eat any of it ☹️ She has also had diorrhea twice today ☹️ They gave given her an anti sickness injection and she's having chicken and rice for tea tonight and tomorrow.
We popped up to my mums after the vets as its her birthday. Within a few mins of being there Harley went and sat by the front door barking. Even my mum (who isn't a dog person) said Harley doesn't look right and her behaviour is totally out of character.
Always happens when my OH is away (And I've still got the end stages of the flu so not feeling great myself). Sorry for moaning, just having a bad day

They said to limit exercise for a few days then gently increase it. We have to go back next Monday to see how she is.
Sorry, didn't explain properly - she's been given metacam but not allowed to start it until Thursday as long as she isn't sick again before then. If she's still being sick we have to go back Thursday. In the meantime we just have to wait and see
