Is it normal for a puppies joints to crack sometimes?

When he is laying down playing with a toy and he stands up, or rolls from one side to the other I sometimes think I hear him crack.

When training and going from down to stand (or visa versa) I never hear it, when he's walking around I don't hear it, and if I move his legs around manually I can't hear or feel anything.

I wondered if this is something I should worry about, whether it's just him growing or whether it's nothing? He is 7 months

    As always, appreciate your advice.

    Thank you!

I cant say that I ever noticed any of mine making cracking noises at any time . Maybe have a chat with your Vet , just to put your mind at rest , best course of action really and good luck !

It's probably nothing, but given that my girl has very crack-y joins and she has severe HD, I would have a chat with your vet next time you are in (unless there is any limping in which case I would go sharpish)

Do you mean loud clicking noises?
The same as @drjs@5 , my dog's joints click or crack - particularly on standing up, he also has severe HD and ED, however when I raised this with my vet who specialises in physio and joint issues, she is fairly adamant that there is no obvious link. She said maybe I was more sensitive to it knowing he has joint issues. Apparently many perfectly healthy dogs have clicking joints, as do humans, for no particular reason. Some dogs with bad joints never click.

I would be more worried about other symptoms, such as repetitive stiffness, limping, unusual gait, not wanting to run a lot, etc, before worrying about any clicking. If you notice any of these , then a vet's advice should be sought.

Axel’s joints will crack sometimes after laying down for awhile. He was just checked at his two year check up and all his joints and such are in perfect condition. I think it’s just like us humans, we crack sometimes to.
