hi Group! Getting my first chocolate lab puppy in 4 weeks! Does the majority agree that crating during the day is best for the new baby?? Thanks in advance everyone
Hi Jewell, Welcome to the forum! Crates are a great idea for puppies as they help with toilet training and provide them with a nice den to sleep in. However, you won't want to keep them in there for long periods during the day. Definitely crate train! Our 3 yr old boy loves his crates - we have two, one in the living area and one in our bedroom. He uses them both as his retreat from the world, and us. At night he jumps into bed with us but when he gets sick of our jimmy legs he hops down and crashes into his den. Read up on it but the best advice I can give is to feed him in it at the start. Food=Good so Crate=Good. Also have it in the family area with the door open all the time.
