Help, our 8 month old puppy has started to guard her toys ect, when you go near she starts to snap at your arms, also grabbing my arm with her mouth! It has only just started so any ideas will be great x
You can try to work and change the behaviour by following the advice of Jean Donaldson in her book 'Mine' which is the very best book on all forms of resource guarding. My advice is always to call in the services of a positive trainer/behaviourist to work with you, yoyr family and your pup. In the meantime maintain a distance at which she doesn't snap and don't try to take her toys.
