First night in new home. Bouncer whined twice in the night but I was firm & ignored him. He woke up at 6am, so I gave him some fuss & he promptly fell back asleep on my lap he looked so peacfull which lulled me off to night nights as well. He woke me again at 7ish, so I fed him his breakfast while kids where getting ready for school. I let him out in the garden after & he bounced around doing his name justice. Then...........drum roll please....................He did a poo outside.............hooray Not bad for first night. I am very proud.
No, at the moment his basket is in the kitchen which I have closed off with a childgate. I will see if this trend continues. He did actualy do a poo on his paper in the night as well.
Re: Puppy Progress Hahahaha, the typical new puppy owner conversation, completely focussed on puppy toilet training! I remember being out with friends for dinner when our puppy was about ten weeks old, and OH just sitting there with a beatific smile on his face... When asked what he was so happy about, he said 'we've been here for 15 minutes, and NO ONE has mentioned poop ONCE so far!!!' :
Re: Puppy Progress ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
2nd outside poo just occured.
Excellent. Keep us posted. ;D ;D ;D
Re: Puppy Progress Socialization. I took Bouncer to pick up my kids from school today, carried him obviously. They currently have building work going on so massive diggers & earth movers where making a hell of a racket, he wasnt bothered in the slightest by the noise but was keenly interested. While I waited outside for the wife to bring my two kids out, lots & lots & lots of children & parents started to pass by. I think 50% of the parents & 90% of the kids asked if it was alright to give Bouncer a stroke. Again he handled the attention just fine. It took an age to walk home because of all the "awwwww's". He has done me proud again.
Re: Puppy Progress Perfect so far!! You can come here and talk about poo all you like, most of us do at one time or another....
Re: Puppy Progress well Bouncer is now poo'ing outside nearly 100% of the time. He even has a special place to sit & whine to tell us he needs to go. Hold on, I thought I was supposed to train him, not vice versa. ;D
Re: Puppy Progress
This morning he found his voice. He tried to bark, not yap but actualy bark.
i still remember the first time we heard orion bark!!! it was PRECIOUS... we were outside with him and the kids ran away from him so he could chase, and he was so alarmed by their sudden departure, he took off (little puppy gambols) after my daughter and ARF-ARF-ARF - "hey, wait for me!"
