If Rue is chewing on a toy or bone, she almost always has to be sitting on one of our laps. Always! Do your pups do this too? It's pretty adorable. My friend said her grown lab still tries to do it. Rue lap1 by rue7514, on Flickr Rue lap2 by rue7514, on Flickr
Re: Pups and laps No. But as a small pup Chepi spent a lot of time on my lap snoozing with me sitting on the floor. She's a lovely looking pup, you must be so pleased.
Re: Pups and laps Holly's the same. She likes me to sit on the floor with her and hold her chew, then she'll curl up and snooze with her head in my lap.
Re: Pups and laps Right now Harley is half on the sofa, half on hubby gnawing on an antler. She does it all of the time with both of us. She can also be very lazy sometimes and keeps putting in our hands until we hold it for her to chew, sad thing is we do it for her :
Re: Pups and laps one of Lemmys fave things is to lay on a lap with his chews he chomps away gazing up at whoever he's blessed with his presence. Adorable

Re: Pups and laps yes! my orion does this EVERY DAY... we even have a PHRASE for it... BONE TIME. he will come in the kitchen around the same time each evening and bark and then run into the family room and leap onto the sofa and wait... i'll sit down and he'll creep into my lap with his bone and happily gnaw while i skritch his ears and watch a bit of telly. it's a lovely way to wind down at the end of the day. isn't it wonderful, how sweet our babies can be???? helps offset the FRUSTRATION... argh. haha
Re: Pups and laps Yes, at a year old Molly still likes me to hold one end of her bone while she has a good chew. I need to cover myself with a towel as she's very droolly!
Re: Pups and laps With a chew or a bone Penny wants to be left alone with it. She's not protective of it or anything but just wants to give it her undivided attention! She will growl if the cat goes too near though! But we do have epic cuddle time every day she will very rarely settle in the evening unless she is on the sofa with me. She will lay across my lap or curled up behind my legs. God forbid if I sit in the armchair instead of the sofa!! She also comes up to bed with me for an hour or so most nights and will cuddle into me under the duvet. Then when my OH comes to bed she will happily trot off downstairs to her own bed!! When she was really young we used to have naps together on the sofa (when I was exhausted from getting up several times a night with her) and she used to curl up on my stomach. Cute when she only weighed 3kg.... Not so cute now! But I do love our cuddle times.
Re: Pups and laps While driving my grandson home last Sunday from a fun day hanging out with his Memop (his name for me, not sure where that came from) I heard hysterical giggles coming from the backseat and glanced back to see Edsel sitting quite nicely on Cohen's lap, who was sitting in his car sea, tooling along watching the scenery out the window. ;D He's quite a silly dog some days.
