As part of Toby’s cancer fight I have switched him successfully to raw food. At the moment I am using Nutriment complete meals. They are grain free.
There seems to be a lot of controversy now about grain free being bad for dogs and causing CDM.
Am I right to conclude that the grain free diets that are a problem are the ones that include a lot of legumes as fillers?
I obviously don’t want to introduce any other potential health issues.

I've asked this question myself on a few forums. My understanding is that it's the legume content rather the lack of grains that is likely causing the problem in grain free kibble.
I don't think there's any evidence of increased DCM in raw fed dogs.

    Hi Thanks Ruth
Realised I had put CDM after I pressed send!
That is my understanding but I keep seeing “Don’t feed grain free” so thought I would check on here.
