I took Dexter along to a new Daycare / Boarding Facility today. Its Marketing blurb says:

'Situated in Dubai Investment Park Zone 2 and spread across the equivalent of 18 tennis courts - with two thirds indoors, the luxury pet resort and spa features the world's largest indoor Dog Park and free play area and offers 200 luxury rooms, Daycare, indoor and outdoor pools, Training and Grooming.'

It is very impressive and with being new it is absolutely immaculate .So we had a successful behaviour assessment and Induction and were allowed to sign up to join. The attraction for me is the dog park area,I'm very happy with the Daycare centre Dexter attends already, unfortunately they don't have an area where owners can go in too.So I'm hoping if I go along a couple of times a week I can get some good solid practice in practising our recall from other dogs ....something I've always found difficult to set up.Just got to get over my embarrassment now of getting my whistle out I do always feel a bit self conscious when I've got a potential audience .
Dexter had a good couple of hours in the daycare section, then they gave him a swim before I arrived to collect him and he seemed really happy there!

That sounds really good Angela! What a lucky boy Dex is.
Is Dubai actually becoming dog friendlier?

I can honestly say Jacqui that there have been some great improvements.....there wouldn't have been a chance of something like this a few years ago.I can never see outside spaces happening though.Thats ok,with a bit of ingenuity and effort you can get your dog some great off lead runs.I'm not the biggest fans of dog parks if I'm honest ,if they were busy I think they would stress me...so I'll pick my times carefully which I'm very lucky to be able to do,I can avoid peak periods like the weekends and just go when there is a handful of dogs....and to have the chance to practice calling him away from other dogs is brilliant. He was super yesterday with just one other dog,a perfect stooge dog for a first visit ...a doggie that was 'there' , but more interested in playing ball with his owner than bouncing round with Dexter x

Sounds fab. It must be so challenging to work around all the restrictions. We're very lucky that dogs are allowed to run free almost anywhere here.
