    Hello Everyone.

    Daisy( will be my second CL we will own. (we have not got her yet. Still looking for AKC Standard breeder. But This time I will Train Daisy.

    What Is the best book available to how to train a labrador puppy you all recommend? I see so many in the market. But it is overwhelming. Not PetSmart, Petco Training allowed here!!!

    Thank you all for your recommendations in advance;

    Do you mean a book that covers crate training, toilet training, food guarding, and socialisation?

    You can download a free copy of my 'New Puppy? No Problem' booklet from my website if you click on the link in my signature below and go to the Downloads page.

    Otherwise, Pippa has The Happy Puppy Handbook and The Labrador Handbook - and Train Your Dog Like a Pro is good for general clicker training. I also like Click for Joy by Melissa C Alexander for people starting out. The best book on how dogs think and learn, is IMO The Culture Clash by Jean Donaldson.

    My first chocolate labrador was trained By Petsmart until her AKC GCC. I learned a lot, plus I spent a lot.'
    I think will like to train my new puppy(hopefully have her by May) myself. I need that quality time w/ her and I have the time now and patience. I am retired now. Micheal thank you for your post. I will definitely follow it. Thank you again.

    Then Follow Me--A Deal with Your Dog by Eva Bodfäldt is worth reading.
