I took a bit of a gamble last night. Willow is growing quickly and needed the partition in her crate moved yesterday. The crate didn't come with one, so John had made one to go in, but it was a bit of a pain to move it, so we decided to see how we went without it in. I was prepared to have to do a swap of vet bed in the night and get the washing machine on, but Willow was good as gold and didn't spoil it at all. In fact, she had a fabulous night without a peep until her normal wake-up time of 7:50. Because her belly was upset the other night, I had moved the mid-night wee half an hour earlier, but when I went in, she was completely zonked out in the middle of her crate and I had to wake her up to take her out. So I'll start moving the time back 15 minutes a night again. I'm pretty sure she could go much longer, but I don't want to push it too soon. I'm quite happy with our little routine now
Re: Removed the separator in the crate Hmm, OK then... well it was a successful night, but Willow just walked straight into her crate and had a wee! It's right next to the open door, so not as if she had to go any further. Duuuh! Vet bed now in the wash and another bit put in (although she then had a loopy ten minutes and pulled it out again).
Re: Removed the separator in the crate Hi Snowbunny! Can I ask what your night time routine is like at the moment? Seeing as our pups are quite similar in age. Currently ours is as follows: Bed 11pm Wake Bob up for a wee at 4am then straight back to sleep Bob wakes us up at 6.30am needing a wee Breakfast. Ideally I'd like drop the 4am wee break and for him to go 11pm to 6.30am... wishful thinking maybe?! Lou x
Re: Removed the separator in the crate We take her out for last toilet at midnight, then bed. Up at 4:30, but moving to 4:45 tonight and 15 mins more each night henceforth. I'm sure she could already go until at least 5:30. Then back to bed and she always wakes me at 7:50, ten minutes before my alarm goes off 4:30 actually suits me because it means I get back to sleep before getting up time. As it gets closer to "real" morning, I think I'll be suffering more!
Re: Removed the separator in the crate Hey! I'm new to the forum. We got Inca a fortnight ago. She's 10 weeks now so a similar age to your pups. At the moment she goes to bed at 11, has a wee break at 5am and then I get her up for the day at 6.30. Aiming to gradually phase out the wee break. When we first got her we did it at 3.30 and we have been pushing it back since then. She's quite a small build, she weighs about 6kg just now so I guess she has quite a small bladder too! L x

[/quote] Nellie has been pretty much housetrained since day one with only a few accidents to count, she is 6 months this week, but last week my hubby bought her upstairs (she has only been upstairs 2-3 times before) she jumped straight on my bed and did a huge wee! I didn't think we needed to proof toilet training upstairs too! :
Re: Removed the separator in the crate My pup is 10 weeks old and she has been sleeping all night since 9 weeks. She has her last pee around 9:30 and she is usually good until 6:30am.
Re: Removed the separator in the crate All pups are different and their bladder control can vary. At 12 weeks, Harley was sleeping 11pm-7am, by 20 weeks she would happily sleep 11pm-10am. My neighbours have a lab the same she as us, but he needed 2 toilet breaks a night until he was 6 months old.
