    Hi all

First post from a returning dog owner. Our last x breed passed away 6 years ago at 14 Yrs old and recently decided that we both wanted another companion for my wife and I, so the hunt began, and we ended up with Izzy - a little black bundle of excitement, devilish cunning, but very intelligent. In the space of 4 days we worked through responding to her name, sit, come, drop...and of course, NO.

Proudly displayed her skills to my OH and all went well until we went inside, then the devilish look appeared and promptly ignored my commands. "If you ain't giving me any more chicken then I'll just do as I please..." Mmm, more work me thinks LoL.

That said, she sleeps in the crate at night and so far we have had some crying, but only lasts 2-3 mins then she settles and goes to sleep, so can't really complain.

Just need to get her injections finished so we can go out for real walks instead of just the back garden.

Look forward to more reading and where I can contribute as well.

    Cheers

    Mulski

Welcome to the forum from me and my two, Willow and Shadow.
If you don't have a copy of the Happy Puppy Handbook, I thoroughly recommend it, even for someone who has owned dogs before.

Have a read through the puppy and training articles on our main website, too: http://www.thelabradorsite.com - there's a wealth of information there.
And, of course, don't be afraid to post any questions - or pictures!! - here :)

Thanks for the warm welcome folks. Day 5 and still getting used to getting up early again, but a great reward to see a very excitable backside wagging pup; completely screwed up my wife's morning routine, but she's coping LoL.

Thanks for the handbook tip Fiona, my birthdays coming up in a few days so already dropped some hints... :)

Welcome from me and 2 Black Labs. It will get worse before it gets better:) Though such fun as well. Enjoy. I can certainly second Fiona's recommendation of The Happy Puppy Handbook, tells you virtually everything you need to know and is such a help and support.
