He chewed it off the computer chair, I think it was a soft rubber type - it vanished down his throat before I realised what he'd got. Really cross with myself as I've been teaching 'leave its' and he's done really well but this all happened so fast my brain didn't click in. I hope this will pass through him ok? I don't know whether to contact the emergency vet or wait and see if it comes through.
Depends how big it was really , if small , say the size of a 10p piece or less , it should pass through , but if in doubt, call your Vet , please don't feel guilty , my boy ate all the small timer switches off my cooker when he was a puppy , they did reappear .
Yes, smaller than a 10p, and I'm pretty sure it was soft not hard plastic - there was definitely no crunching from Ripple, and normally I can remove things from his mouth as he usually chews before he swallows, I just can't believe how fast this was. I searched all over the floor as I originally didn't think he'd eaten it but I can't find it anywhere.
Puppies will be puppies! Most likely it'll reappear without a problem. I'm not sure how big 10p is but it sounds small. He might vomit it up in the next few days, or it'll just pass through with no troubles. If he starts pacing, looking uncomfortable, straining to poop, or won't eat or drink then get him straight to the vet or emergency vet. But while he's behaving normally then all is well. Definitely don't panic or lose sleep over it tonight
The knob has reappeared already, after an exited chase about with a football. Ripple is now currently enjoying a banana and kibble Kong as a reward for putting my mind at rest. I'm going to make sure I extend the leave it training to include all plastic knobs now!
Glad yet another 'Great Poo Watch' is over ! You are not the first and you certainly won't be the last!so glad Ripple obliged quickly to stop you worrying ,they can be little monkeys!Dexter is nearly 3 and occasionally on a walk he will sneakily pick up a date of I'm not concentrating.....and then he tricks me!!!!He e walks along with his mouth perfectly still, then when he thinks it's safe he starts chomping!
