Re: roasted bones from pet shops? I think they are - for my dog. I have a dog who views a hard bone (or hard anything) as a challenge, and he will bite harder and harder. If your dog has this style of chewing, anything hard is a risk. Other people are much more comfortable with their dogs having bones - I think this is very likely to be because different dogs have different chewing styles, and some dogs are absolutely fine with bones.
Re: roasted bones from pet shops? I used to buy them for Lady but then got second thoughts that they probably weren't a healthy option.
Re: roasted bones from pet shops? Thank you. Just thinking of time fillers while she is still in season.
Re: roasted bones from pet shops? I'm good on time fillers (that don't require a huge effort on my part, like clicker training). 8in1 filled rawhide (small - only one a day) Anco roots Pizzles Frozen kongs Hard packaging with kibble inside An entire newspapers scrunched up in one big pass the parcel with a bit of kibble in each sheet Frozen rice hedgehogs filled with soaked kibble Kong goodie bones (I fill these with sea wraps - sticks of sweet potato wrap in fish skin) Kong wobblers Kibble hidden between the balls of a trixie cube The best quiet game is he has to lie very still (if he moves, we don't play) and catch a soft ball (we use the trixie cube balls) and give it back to me. He loves it, and will play it for ages.
Re: roasted bones from pet shops? I simply have to do that pass the parcel thing one day - such a great idea. Jade, are the bones you're thinking of roasted or freeze dried? Freeze dried ones look roasted, but aren't. The bigger versions would still be pretty hard though.
Re: roasted bones from pet shops? I don't know, they are just in a big box. Will see if they say on the box. I got her a long chewy thing made of of the same stuff as the hedgehog I got once. Not sure was rice but says its natural. She has been excellent considering she not been out.
