My chocolate lab is 10 weeks old now. He has asked to go outside since we got him at 8 weeks so is house trained and has slept in a crate all through the night without crying or any accidents since i got him. He sits and learnt how to give his paw yesterday. Only trouble im having is him picking everything up outside and his nose is dry all the time is that normal?
His name is rolo and i think i have been very lucky with him so far.

Hi and welcome to the forum! Rolo sounds like a wonderful puppy :)

What kinds of things is he picking up outside? Do you mean eating things he shouldn't or carrying things around?

I wouldn't worry too much about the dry nose, unless you mean it actually looks like is drying out and peeling.

Hes just picking up little stones and twigs all the time. His nose is not peeling its just dry all the time not seen it a bit wet once since i got him but he seems fine and playful when he is awake so it probably nothing for me to worry about.

His nose sounds ok :) My dog's nose is mostly dry (as in not wet) too.

Does he try to chew the sticks and stones or just carry them about a bit? Does he have plenty of toys that he can access freely to chew or carry around?

He chews sticks and just carrys stones. He has alot of toys and chew things he plays with all the time but once we go in the garden he is after stones.
Forgot to say he went on his lead in garden for first time this morning he had a little chew but after a few mins was happy to walk about on it he seems really easy to teach new things.

I found that my pup grew out of picking up stones fairly quickly. Just swop the stone for something more interesting. It is good that he carries things, shows he is a natural retriever.

Hi, and welcome to you and Rolo from me and Holly (20 month yellow Lab).

My previous Lab was a choccy called Cocoa. Her best friends were also choccies called Smarties and Fudge. There's a definite theme to naming choccies!

    Hi

Rolo sound like a perfect pup.

Puppies will pick things up including things you don't want it to.

I'd get him to start learning to swap for a treat or toy now then one day when he gets something you don't want him to have but he wants he will have learnt swap and you won't fall into the catch me if you can game. ::)

Hi there,Dexter loved stones....randomly he's just picked one up and carried it back from a toilet break this morn ,little monkey!
When he was younger he wanted chew them so I always swapped them for a treat and I also used ice cubes as a substitute because he seemed to love the stones clacking on his teeth ....I felt the ice mimicked this sensation .
He sounds a great pup x
