OH spotted a tick on Charlie tonight - so we'll have to do another tick treatment this year. Anyway, operation tick removal swung into action. Charlie in his 'bucket game' position on the sofa getting fed parmesan cheese shavings by OH, and me with the torch and tom o tick twister. Tick removed as per, dropped off the tick tool and disappeared into the sofa!

Argggh! Dratted thing. Forensic search with torches found it scurrying along the sofa and hiding in a button hole! Swiftly hoovered out!

Blasted things! They are getting clever! Will have to start removing them with the dog on a white towel and the hoover at the ready.....

It was half way along the sofa! Was definitely pretty lively! It was small, and we weren't long back from a walk, so maybe it hadn't been attached long....

Arggh! Have just read that I should tightly seal the hoover bag and remove it from the house! *scurries off*

Yeah....:D:D:D That was stupid advice, Dr Google - thanks, not! My vacuum cleaner is a modern, pet home thingy cleaner, and the bag is sealed with a one way plastic flap when not in use - a tick ain't getting out of that to lay its eggs and infest my home!

No idea! You'd think all the swirling and dust and whatnot in a vacuum would kill a tick...surely....o_O

Certainly would result in tick discombobulation, at the very least!

A discombobulated tick is not a happy tick, that's for sure! :D

I've flushed ticks down the loo, after wrapping up in toilet paper. Now you've got me thinking they'll be able to swim and crawl out and attach to my bottom. I'll have to do a tick search before I sit down

Oh gosh, just about wet myself here.......
    You are a hoot Julie!

Squish and flush in this house.
(and yes, still on the tick topic, not moved over to a poo topic inadvertently)

I've just taken a fairly large one off Bracken's ear! Horrid things! It's currently swimming in a bottle cap. I shall be paranoid now checking both the dogs and myself.
Those little tick hooks are a godsend, so quick and easy to use, and the dog didn't feel a thing.:)

It's also amazing how long they can live, even sealed in a zip lock plastic bag. Not as airless as they are supposed to be, those bags, because it was still moving three weeks later. I learned this thanks to a gift from my Mum, who pulled it off my sister's dog and saved it for me to identify.

Years and years and years ago, when I was a child, my Dad told me about 'things that can crawl out of the toilet' - snakes being one. I am still super quick even today! :D:D:D Made a big impression on me! My Dad is probably still laughing about it....
