I've started another thread because I bet you are all fed up of the title of the other one....any issues I'll go back but this was just a quick update because you've all been so kind when I have been having angsty moments, thought I'd let you know today has been a good day ;D Neutering wound is less red,and lovely and dry and almost flat( considering I was casting aspersions on my lovely vets stitching skills yesterday :-[) Tail....hmmm there was evidence of bleeding between this mornings check and yesterday's......I'm not having a panic,I've just done the same, antiseptic on and splinted and tried to catch as many wags as possible( they are back to full throttle today)so hopefully just the goodness of time will enable it to knit strongly. I took his cone off and have been with him all afternoon, not one attempt at licking....good boy.chris is out tonight so I asked Betty to nip round to give me a hand before I attempted to put it back on alone.i could have saved her the trip!I got it out and he got up and walked over to me and sat by my feet and let me slip it over his head .....he amazes me sometimes .....so all in all without putting any jinxes on us he is doing really well..... Bye for now x
Re: Safe to read....good news update!!! Oh, good boy Dexter!!! Angela, hope you and your lovely lad have a nice peaceful evening, and that the morning brings further evidence of successful healing.
Re: Safe to read....good news update!!! So happy for you Angela , thats really great news and we are not fed up with the previous thread at all I`m sure that we are all wishing dear Dexter well again , on both counts , bless him
Re: Safe to read....good news update!!! Great news - long may it continue!! And very pleased to hear the wag is as enthusiastic as ever ;D
Re: Safe to read....good news update!!! Absolutely brilliant Angela, you must be more than relieved. Helen x
Re: Safe to read....good news update!!! That's really great Sounds like Dexter is in good spirits and it's lovely to know that you're not too far behind
Re: Safe to read....good news update!!! Really good to hear this, Angela!! Dexter is a Cone Star as I said he would be and sounds like things are healing well!! Continue to give us updates... We want to know hoe Dex is getting on!
Re: Safe to read....good news update!!! Isn't it wonderful when it is all over, sounds as if Dexter is doing well. Rourke (my Lab) didn't have any external stitches when castrated so no worry of licking them, not that any of my dogs have licked their stitches. The only drawback with Rourkes' castration is that he is livelier than ever!
Re: Safe to read....good news update!!! Only just catching up on Dexters adventures. I'm so pleased he's on the mend now. It's such a worrying time. But it sounds like your on top of everything.
Re: Safe to read....good news update!!! Bit of a back step guys last night.....trying to catch you all between breakfast and lunch as there's a bit of a yeuuckkk factor so don't read further until you have finished eating!! I thought I'd try and sleep in bed last night ;D Dex was settled ,had his cone on,no licking seemed quite happy...although he can reach the splint on his tail....anyway I talked myself back into sleeping downstairs.....I was wanting to achieve a tail wound that hadn't bled and though best way is to stay with him, make sure the splint stays and there will be no enthusiastic leaping in the morning greeting..... 3am Dexter leaps up and is promptly sick into his cone.....a lot!blimey,he's never been sick in the 7 months we'd had him, there were some suspicious looking dates in it( sorry ) anyway a big clean up was achieved ,and a small walk over to the park in my second pair of pjs of the night.....any back to sleep.....for Dexter Never mind, that's what will help him get better.....he was great this morning, in fact Stacia ,very lively!!, ......is that a taste of more to come ;D .castration wound looks great...really pleased and the tail wound is dry with no bleeding in the splint so that's a full dry 24 hours..... House still on lock down...no visitors allowed!!! I resume being a normal person when his stitches are out I promise!!! ;D x
Re: Safe to read....good news update!!! Oh dear... We have a vomiting night too, so I can sympathize!!!
Re: Safe to read....good news update!!! Oh no, poor you and Dexter. I did laugh about the dates - sorry.... ;D Really glad that both sites are looking good
Re: Safe to read....good news update!!! Glad all the wounds are doing well and he's such a good boy sitting for his cone. It must be the time of year for tummies. Scott's vomiting cleared up after our visit to the new vet ( very nice man, very, very nice man) unfortunately he now has diarrhea ! ! Just been back to mr vet for more antibiotics. Didnt have to take Scott thank goodness that's too much like hard work. He thinks it's an infection that's lingering. He did only give him 3 days of antibiotics last time which I thought was a bit optimistic. Dogs they like to keep us on our toes.
Re: Safe to read....good news update!!! Glad things Re looking good. Browsing through the Next catalogue, Charlie and Simba sprung to mind ;D http://www.next.co.uk/x521158s3#147849x52
