New member here. Just found this site and love it! We have a now 14 week old lab pup. I have him on Puppy PP chicken and rice. And have since we brought him home and switched him over. If, I change flavors to salmon or whatever. Should I do it gradually like I did when I completely switched brands?

And on that note- what brand does everyone seem to use more? I’m a Purina Pro Plan guy as that’s what my dad used for our other 2 black labs and what our VET (and good family friend always rec).

Hi Boon, welcome to the forum!

I'm not sure that there are any hard and fast rules on this but I tend to do a speeded-up version of transitioning to a new brand.

So for switching to a new brand, I'd include 25% new brand for a day or two, then 50% new brand for a day or two, then 75% new brand for a day or two, then all new brand.

For a new flavor of the same brand, I include about 30% new flavor for a meal or two, 60% new flavor for a meal or two, then all new flavor.

I'd be interested to hear what other people do too!
