Our lab is now 6 month old, and despite our best attempts he scratches at walls in the kitchen. He appears to do this when being ignored during a conversation, or we are not in the kitchen. OK the walls can easily be painted over, but I am worried that there could be some kind of anxiety going off here that needs sorting out early before he gets much older. Any ideas? have ttried spraying them with cider vinegar etc but no real joy.

Hello, what are you doing with him in the day to wear him out physically and mentally. A content settled dog won't typically do this. So, how much exercise is he getting, what daily training are you doing with him ? If he is tired from those activities, he will settle and not chew. The other alternative is to offer different distractions such a stuffed kong or frozen carrot ??

Hi, he has two walks a day. One is a run in a large field often with other dogs, around 30-40 mins. He often comes home from that one completely shattered. He then has a short walk locally in our local park in the evening. We are both at home during the day and will play, tug, fetch the ball drop etc. We've noticed that it happens when we are both out of the room at the same time. He'll often cry until one of us returns. It's got better in the last few weeks however.
