Just had an e mail from a friend of mine, so nothing to do with Chloe my Labrador, but I wonder if anyone on here has heard of such a severe allergy, I will tell him, if anyone has any ideas, as follows:

has broken out in the rash again we are getting to our wits end here. The tests said she is allergic to all red meat, oily fish, rice and wheat. I have been boiling veggies to give her. We have changed her biscuits to White fish and veg but they ever so expensive so we are trying to pad them out a bit. Poor old girl is scratching herself to bits.

It may be that a raw diet would suit her better. There's some resources on here but I'm on my phone so cant do links. Will find some later if no one else has posted. Also firms like CSJ are very good if you call them.

Wishing your friends lots of luck finding something that works :)

Sadly our late yorkie Duncan had an allergy list as long as your arm including grass. He was itchy to the point he would make himself bleed and then get secondary infections which made him even itchier.
We got the point all he could eat was potatoes which was obviously not healthy and because of the environmental allergies he was still itchy. Sadly the vet said PTS was only option but at 3 years old we consulted another vet who said he could prescribe steroids and anti histamines which would shorten his life but may make what time he had left more comfortable. He was right Duncan lived until he was 8 a relatively unitchy life much more comfortable and happy until the steroids over took him and he was PTS last year.

I am not sure what else we could have done but still feel quite guilty about his shortened life.

Not sure if it would be suitable but we give our two this supplement, as they lost some fur and had itchy spots when we first got them, their coats are now thick and glossy, no itching and no tummy upsets at all.

I've attached a photo of the key ingredients too.

Thank you so much, I have passed on your comments to my friend, and also given him the website link, for him to read himself, and maybe join the forum.
    Much appreciated.

I would urge caution if a dog is allergic to cooked lamb for instance feeding raw lamb could kill it. Generally allergies are caused by the proteins in a food being seen as a threat by the body and the body attacking the protein. If you break down the proteins generally you are left with either a safe food or an intolerance whereas feed raw and you could have anaphylactic shock.

Thank you so much everyone, the lab is a Chocolate one by the way. They are trying various different foods now to see if they can pinpoint the exact cause.

Another doggy friend of mine suggested the potato and fish Fishmongers Finest, apparently her Chow was allergic to everything, and has been fine since being fed on this, has anybody tried it on labs I wonder?

Much appreciated all your kind comments.
