Having a horrible day here, car is in for service and MOT so no way to get to vet and Elsie has come down with nasty sickness and diarrhea. Seems happy in herself but doing copious amounts of both, being in a flat she isn't quite making it downstairs either so had a lot of carpet to clean too.

When I get the car back later will see how she is , sleeping gently at the moment so hope the worst is over.

Now feed or not later she had no breakfast and I have rice and chicken but not sure whether to give it to her or not at lunch time.

I feel your pain, horrible isn't it ? If she normally has a meal at lunchtime then I would give her a very small meal of chicken and rice , but very small indeed , then the same at her tea time . You can also give scrambled eggs or boiled white fish as an alternative to chicken, its just as good for calming tums . If she is still suffering tomorrow then I would pop her to the Vets, just in case she has picked up a bug and needs antibiotics , hoping she is lots better soon x

Yes she usually has 3 meals a day, we missed breakfast as this came on suddenly shortly before it. Quite a violent bug if it is one.

Just another tip , when you cook the rice , make sure that you give it to her quite wet and watery , it will help prevent dehydration but putting some liquid back into her system x

This was us recently. I am still washing bedding and disinfecting! I hope she settles down and gets better soon. I found the vet didn't mind talking on the phone (free!) in between my visits. You could call the vet as you are stuck at home. Fingers crossed for the MOT too.

She has had a little egg and is looking happier no poos or sickness for about 3 hours, so hoping worst is over. MOT needed 4 tyres so little expensive but nothing compared with worrying about Elsie !

Oh that's so good to know , just little and often for the next 24 hours , glad that your car didn't have anything too major either, although expensive enough x

She just had a little chicken and rice and has settled down for a sleep, she has a mystery rash on her tummy though, little red spots. Will keep an eye on her I am not sure what that is.

If she's still not herself tomorrow I would give the vets a ring. Hope you both manage to get some sleep x

Severe allergic reaction, we now have to find what caused it. She has nothing to eat from us that isn't safe because we know she has a bit of a delicate tum, and is gluten intolerant. So we are careful what she has.

However she will eat anything she finds, we keep her on a lead to try to control that but it happens.

She was at a play date on day before the initial reaction so I am starting there to see if she was given anything when I wasn't looking, problem with taking two dogs along you have to have eyes in back of your head to keep track of them both.

Think we may have found it, she had to be stopped from licking one ladies arm twice she had TCP on her arm due to a cut. Spoke to the vet on the phone and he says TCP is dangerous to dogs which I didn't realise. So it's lucky she wasn't more ill than she has been it's extremely toxic to dogs. Have to watch her for a couple of days if she gets worse needs to go back to the vet straight away.

At least you've got too the bottom of it and know what it is. I know what its like to have a licker. Scott licks absolutely anything. :-\

I do hope she will be alright now will keep my fingers crossed.

Interesting to know about TCP being toxic. :-\
