Our 6 month old labs are whining/crying every night after about 6 hours or so of sleeping, we get up and let them out for toilet (and they always go, wee and poo) - but should they be able to last 7/8 hours by now? Should we be ignoring?
    They’re crated downstairs.

thanks - we’d really love to get some quality sleep!

Hi there, and welcome :). At 6 months your labs can likely go 8 course without a pee at night. It sounds as though they have got into the habit of early waking and this is simply when they expect day to start.

One thing that can work to break the habit is to set your alarm to get up (and wake them up) earlier than the time they normally wake. Then once the habit is broken, gradually move the start of the day forward a few minutes every day or two. Make a point of being boring and ignoring them when they are up, and don't feed them until later on so that they have no real motivation for waking you.

Other possibilities are separating them. Or de-crating them - especially if they are crated together and / or the crate is quite small.
