We popped out this evening for a meal leaving Small Black Dog to her own devices in the kitchen and adjoining family room. Bit suspicious when she trotted straight out of the kitchen when we opened the door. I must say, to give her credit, she does a very good and thorough job of shredding the recycling (in a carrier bag next to the kitchen bin), and the new paper napkins bought especially for the barbecue tomorrow. Called her back to discuss the damage and she just pulled the all innocent "don't-you-know-that-dogs-have-no-recollection-of-transgressions-after-about-10-seconds" look. "And anyway we are completely amoral so you are wasting your time chum. Any chance of a pigs ear while we are out here?" So watch out all you people thinking puppies will grow out of it. She's 4 on 3rd September. ;D
Re: Small Black Dog Denies Napkin and Recycling Crime oh that made me laugh...Lady is great . with you on them not growing out of it. there was a Dreadful Silence last night and i went into the source of silence ( bedroom), on entering two ladradors froze and attempted to look as blase as possible. the duvet was no longer stuffed. stuffing all over room....cuillin is two....

David, I think perhaps that you may have chosen the wrong colour napkins and Lady was kindly assisting you to avoid making the most awful faux pas in displaying them in front of your guests.
