Just got back from a week in the Lakes via Derbyshire where we had a couple of days (partly on business) as well on the way up. Lovely week of dry sunny weather if a tad on the cold side. Met up with friends we hadn't seen for a few years and had a lovely time. Lots of snow but most of the roads were clear so we could reach most places to walk.

Lady was in kennels the whole time because we couldn't take her with us. Picked her up on Saturday full of beans then she went and twisted one of her dodgy elbows leaping about in the car. Doh! Poor lamb couldn't bear any weight on her right front leg at all. All planned to seek vet advice tomorrow but yesterday she was a lot better and today you wouldn't have thought anything wrong. They do make you suffer anxiety attacks, don't they.

Took her for a longish walk this morning and kicked her off with some much needed dummy work. She was at it with much enthusiasm and hadn't, as I'd feared, forgotten it all. If anything her nose has much improved because she was scenting blind retrieves miles away from the dummy.

Anyway we then met up with the two working cockers, Fynn and Sika, Ruby the greyhound/whippet cross, Moss the lakeland complete with deep cuts on his nose where he had tried to engage a fox, and Max the greyhound who Lady just loves. She was straight in with the puppy bob in front of him, followed but the pat on the nose when he didn't rise to it and they were off with Lady butt tucking all over until she ran out of steam being very unfit after 9 weeks of convalescence.

I decided to just let her get on with it and all ok it seems so I guess that's that with the recovery programme.

She's back on the case - whoohoo!

Thank you all for your kind support when I was worrying what to do and all.
