And off to the vets we trot....

OH had just got his breakfast ready, on the side, when a delivery man knocked on the door. So because his leg is in an aircast, it took him a bit of time to get to the door, and then chat for a moment. I was in the garage. In that time you guessed it Benson had wolfed down a substantial amount of cereal, which contained raisins.
Straight down to the vets and poor Benson was given an injection to bring up his stomach contents. Not pleasant at all poor boy..The clinic room was well prepared with big metal bowl and puppy pads, but Benson missed all of those and it was everywhere! By the end of it I was heaving as well! yuck!!! The injection also contained some sort of opiate..so he then went completely loopy...roiling in grass as if he hadn't seen it before..he is now completely zonked out in his crate. The vet is confident that he brought it all up, we could see the contents of the cereal quite clearly.

Interesting to note, and I am pretty sure i's been mentioned before that there is no safe limit concerning dogs and raisins. Some dogs are fine. Some have dreadful consequences (renal) after just a few.

Join the club; it's quite worrying and unpleasant. We only had grapes, raisins are worse! At least Benson did it not out of hours:rolleyes:. You sound a lot calmer than I was! Have a peaceful afternoon.

Argh, how worrying! I'm glad it was all sorted post haste, although it doesn't sound pleasant for either of you. If only we could say "well, he won't make that mistake again!", but we all know that's not how it works. I guess it might make Marcus think twice next time! :D

Oh gosh, Benson. Give mum a break, eh? Glad you got it sorted. Let's hope the boy snoozes quietly for the rest of the day.

We had to say to hubby's mum and dad as they would leave some muesli out for the birds and squirrels they have, Baxter thought woo hoo food  it was a race to get to it first. Now they just put rice krispies out and needless to say the birds and squirrels don't get a look in if Baxter's about  Glad Benson's okay x
