Went for a lovely walk this morning but Hattie found a snack, it was a small Deer head, she came running up to me with this head and stopped to snack, oh lord it even still had it's eyes. I couldn't watch her eat it so kept walking but she kept catching me up with the head which in total took about 30 minutes to finish. My question is should I worry about her eating the eyes or the head? yukkkkkkkk, yukkkkkk, yukkkkkkk xx

    erk!!

Amazing how quickly these pooches become wild animals!!

Mine brought a deer backbone, I thought it was a stick, but Tatze doesn't usually bother with sticks - she was holding on to this one! When she gave it me - yuk!

    :p

I have an even more disgusting story but not sure if it is too gross to share... it involves Pongo, tissue paper lying around in the woods, and us suddenly realising what the tissue paper had been used for...

My old dog Bones once turned up with the skull of a wild boar...

Being a very good mum (to my children) I took it home, boiled it clean, used peroxide to make it nice and white, and gave it to my ten-year-old son. He was THRILLED. :D

Oh good lord Helen !eyes!!!!! Yuck yuck yuck !
    Toilet paper
We find the skeletons of all kinds where we walk.....Dexter is good at bringing bones back to me ( never any meat on them ::) )
I really couldn't get the dead lizard out his mouth once though I was horrified at him crunching it but even more horrified to touch it......in the end I stood on it with both feet so head and tail were under my trainers he still kept crunching at the middle though until I got him on his lead.
Vile creatures these dogs! ;) ;D

Looks like there still might have been a bit of meat on that leg bone.....

There was a funny smell in Chris's car the other week ,I'd been using it while he was away...he took it to the car wash to get clean and found the bird wing in the door that I'd got off Dexter and put there so he wouldn't grab it again .......and forgotten about ::) .......then there was the mouse my sister pulled out of my back pack looking for a ball for him.....it was in a poo bag though,I don't know what all the fuss was about ;D !!!!

Not really though; they are just being dogs. They probably think we are being most unreasonable with our squealing and carrying on when they manage to get their jaws on a lovely juicy bit of decomposing mouse or rabbit...

Worst I had was that stiff but decomposing rabbit.
I could cope with the freshly caught woodpigeon but decayed stuff not so good

I wasn't going to read this on account of a potential gross-out but I'm glad I did ;D Hilarious.

Friends were telling me that hunters have ever so kindly left two deer carcasses by the parking area close to our cross country ski trails. Have crossed that off the list for potential walk spot for quite some time....

Willow sometimes has a rabbit head for lunch, eyes and all. She definitely isn't squeamish :)

I've already told the story about scooping something out of Willow's mouth with my fingers, only to discover it was what she and Pongo both seem to like eating.... *bork*

Chortle. Sorry, I know it would've been utterly stomach turning....

I totally approve of rabbit head feeding but I'd seriously have to leave the room...

It's the sound effects that are the best. The crunching followed by a soft squelching...
