OK, so this is going to go in the training log as well, but I just HAD to post a separate post, too.

Willow and Shadow are both great on their leads. They've come on leaps and bounds and we have lovely loose-lead walks now. When they're walked separately, that is. They were always a bit of a pain when John was walking one and I was walking the other together, and if I had to walk them on-lead together without John, I despaired I would ever be able to get anywhere. They pulled, tangled up with each other, went in opposite directions, wouldn't even try to walk nicely - it was just a competition between them as to who could get out in front.

Yesterday, I had to walk them together in the evening. And I had to take them on their leads. My worst nightmare. But, it had to be done, so I sucked it up and prepared for the most stressful thing of the week.

BUT! They were ANGELS!!!! They walked absolutely beautifully on loose leads, no competition at all and only about three instances of pulling where there was a fabulous smell one of them had to get to, which I did my normal stop and wait and then they immediately came back. I was absolutely beside myself, bursting with pride for these two little monsters. On the way back home, we bumped into a friend who hasn't seen them in a while and they stood nicely while we had a catch-up and she said how beautifully they were walking. I know!!! They got lots and lots of treats to let them know how good they were being and I'm sure they thought I was quite mad from all the gushing I was doing.

Moments like that are priceless. I love my munchkins so much :)

I'm under no misconception - I have two very trainable puppies. Given a natural born hooligan, I'm sure my posts would be very different! And let's not forget, we've not hit adolescence yet
