Morning, David took Charlie for his walk this morning, he met a neighbour who has a Black Flatcoat and a Black Labrador both entire males who are known for being aggressive and have attacked an old Jack Russell in the Pub and approach 99% of dogs growling and showing their teeth and have even been described as ferrel Hattie however gets special treatment and adores them and they her!. They stopped to talk, one of the dogs got in Charlie's face which he doesn't like but he stayed perfectly calm, David used BAT as always and gave him treats, after a minute or so they walked on. It's only a little thing but it just shows that even when you think training isn't working or it's slow progress, it IS working and moments like this prove it Very proud of Charlie this morning Thanks xxx
BAT is Behavioural Adjustment Therapy. You can read a little bit about it here...... http://empoweredanimals.com Jen used it really effectively to help her 2 dogs and wrote about it in a thread here ...... http://thelabradorforum.com/forum/ne.../5046-bat-tips
Sorry Helen,I forgot to say how well Charlie did....good boy,you and David have been so devoted to him x
Oh ladies thank you, he is so good thanks to BAT which is the most positive training anyone can use Today he met lots of Spaniels on his walk, Willow the Spaniel puppy jumping all over him up in his face, although he does love her, also a horrid Jack Russell charged at him growling in his face and he didn't react at all He has come a long way, thank goodness xx
How wonderful, Helen. You have every right to be proud and pleased as punch. He is a wonderful dog and it is all down to you and David. I really do admire you a great deal for your perseverance and commitment to Charlie.☺️
