Soft poo wasn't the chicken... worms?

Hmmm. I thought that Willow's slightly soft poo was down to the chicken wings she was getting every couple of days for lunch. JulieT suggested chopping them in half, so I was going to do that but figured I would get her back to normal first so I had a clean slate (and terrace!) to work from. She's not had anything out of the ordinary for a few days now and is still a bit runny. It's nothing too drastic, just shiny and soft rather than firm and "kickable". I put her on rice and chicken from yesterday lunchtime and will continue with that today so hopefully that will sort it.

Otherwise, my vet at our first consultation said she wouldn't need worming again until after her second jabs. She has only been wormed once; I think at about 2 or 3 weeks, but not since then. I blithely followed the vet's word, but I've now read up and it seems in the UK puppies are wormed a lot more frequently than this. So now I'm wondering if the soft poos could be caused by worms? I don't know where she would have picked them up because her stool sample at 8 weeks was clear and she's only been on the floor on our terrace since then, but do you think it's a possibility?

Oh Fiona I don't know.....I worm Dexter every 6 weeks now at 2 years old.
I didn't have him at Willows age but I did I it every month....I'm sure at 5 months when we got him.
You'd see evidence wouldn't you of she had worms?and I think her tummy would be swollen.....let's see someone more useful than me will be along shortly I'm sure x

Worms is always a possibility, personaly I would take her along to the vet just to be sure.

I got some worming stuff from the vet I'm going to give to her tomorrow morning. She's not had a poo since this morning, so no idea on progress with the chicekn & rice! I've even done the poo dance, but nothing :)

I looked at her poos a couple of times after the worming tablet and I couldn't see any sign, but I am pleased to say that Willow has been solid ever since. So maybe it was that, maybe it wasn't. I nearly took a photo of her ablutions this morning, it was such a perfect cigar shape. I always maintained that people go weird immediately they have kids. It appears the same is true after getting a puppy.

This made me laugh out loud. I thought once my son hit 3 and my springer had long since been a pup my poo exploration days days were over! Enter new puppy and more poo!!! It's all fun and games but best of all I'm a poo expert, once mastermind has accepted my application I know for sure what my specialist subject is :)
