Went off to work this AM. Before I left I:

Scoured off all counters of food items
Put dirty dishes in dishwasher, not in sink
Took dog food out do cupboard and in my bedroom behind closed door (he had got into closet when dog food is in on the weekend, have to get a new container for it)
Gave pooch a chewie foe while I was gone.

    What I forgot to do??

Shut under the sink door which gives access to garbage.

Daughter was fussing at me as I was driving her to school so I did all the above, but forgot to check the garbage.

    Yes he bag was full.

    Simba had a lovely time.

Much sympathy - I have a check list now. Eg Pen tied up because of the "lick and flick" latch escape plan. Pen edge properly lashed to wall because of side wriggling escape plan. Counters clear in case he invents a new escape plan....

    Roll on Crate training.

    Photos, please ;)

Seriously, what a drag to come back to that.... It's a scene with which I too am familiar....

My parents like to bring a lot of their own food in an esky (cooler box thing) when they come to stay. The first time, I told them that all food items must be stored behind a closed door. I put the esky in the spare room. Dad didn't want it there, so he took it out again when I wasn't looking and put it in the lounge room. We all went out to a party. When we came back there was bran, fibre supplements, oats, muesli, skim milk powder and dried fruit strewn across the lounge room and ground into the carpet. What hadn't been eaten, that is. That was courtesy of our previous Labrador, Nicolae. Now my parents know that all food items = all food items.

On another occasion, also under Nicolae's tenure, friends stayed with us for a week while moving into their new house. They stored some boxes in an alcove off the kitchen. One of the boxes had food from the pantry (flour, sugar, pasta, rice etc.). On the first day they came back to a scene of carnage and the dog pooped five kinds of rice for days.

OK, so Simba thought you needed help with the re-cycling. Hmm.....
There will come a time when you will laugh uproariously about this.
In the meantime.....large glass of the old vino I think....is it too early there with you?
    Poor Lisa :(

    Re: Somebody shoot me now...

I have to admit I did think if taking a picture but I didn't have a lot of time as I had clean everything up and actually eat some lunch and then had a funeral to go to, so....you'll just have to imagine all the stuff strewn around.

I'm now trying to think about what was in the garbage that might possibly hurt him....ack....thankfully he does seem to have a bit of a iron gut....
