Hi Cooper has a sore elbow...probably from playing at day care, but his fur has been removed and I can see pink skin ..... he is not favoring it or "complaining" about it (they never do). Is there anything I can put on it to cover it that he can lick without a problem? Imagine this happens often, but a first for me. Any info would be great and most appreciated. Thanks.

Bit difficult to say really.....do you mean he has a bit of fur missing? From a bite? Or from lying on hard ground?

If just a scrape, keep it clean (eg hibiscrub), don't let him lick it, and leave it be apart from keeping an eye on it...

If it looks raw then a bit of diluted Betadine would be fine (dilute to the colour of black tea). If it's just a scrape it should heal up fine and the fur should grow back. Avoid touching it with your bare fingers (as humans carry a lot of staph bacteria on our fingers that can transfer to our pet's wounds, as I have recently learned).

Hope he's all better soon :)
